People are the sum of their beliefs. This is perhaps the most simplified way to explain the Law of Attraction to those who are unfamiliar with the concept. For many who are just beginning to learn about it, this can seem difficult to digest, usually because it requires the individual to take full responsibility for his or her life. Of course, when you begin to fully grasp the power of intention, you will realize how empowering it is.
Belief Equals Reality
In 2005, Dr. Wayne Dyer wrote a powerful book titled “The Power of Intention.” This book helped many individuals to understand the core concept behind the law of attraction. The basic concept behind the power of intention is that your belief is ultimately what shapes your reality. It goes deeper than just intending something to happen, and includes your belief that it will happen.
Truly, this concept has been around since the beginning of time, but different explanations can work to clarify it. When a smoker starts saying “I am a non-smoker,” rather than “I am trying to quit,” he or she instantly finds that the struggle is less harsh. The change begins to manifest when he or she accepts that belief. More famously, Henry Ford expressed this belief many years ago when he said, “Whether you think you can, or think you can’t – you’re right.”
Changing Your Beliefs
Many people actively deny the law of attraction because they believe it impossible to change beliefs. Well, if you consider the principles behind it, then this is true, but only for the person who believes it. Remember, belief equals reality, so someone who believes they are incapable of changing cannot change.
The first belief anyone must overcome is the limiting belief that change is something external. Instead, all change starts from a conscious decision made internally. Once this decision to change occurs, beliefs will naturally follow. When belief takes hold, manifesting is inevitable.
So, if you are working towards a goal, remember that everything begins with a thought. Begin by clarifying what you desire and then put it out there; let the universe know what you want. Once this happens, believe that you deserve it. Always remember, if you believe it, you will achieve it.
